Mit einem neuen Bassisten (Mark Daven) liegt nun der Zweitling „Battle on“ der Amerikaner vor. Das Album setzt die Richtung des Debüts konsequent fort. Der Heavy Metal der Siebziger und frühen Achtziger war eine Weiterentwicklung des Beat der 60er und des Rocks. Geprägt von nachvollziehbaren Songstrukturen mit dem Verständnis für eingängige Melodien waren diese Bands weit davon entfernt, was heute manchmal unter „Heavy Metal“ verstanden wird. CYANIDE SCREAM sind in dieser alten Tradition anzusiedeln , klingen jedoch auf der Höhe der Zeit! Als Anspieltips nennt das Label Killer Metal Records den Ohrwurm „Forever Holding On“ oder die Ballade „In The Cold".

Heute ist die neue digitale EP „Introspection“ von KEEP OF KALESSIN veröffentlicht worden bei iTunes, Spotify und WimP
„Introspection“ ist die erste EP einer Serie neuer EP’s und Singles, die während des Jahres bis zum Oktober 2013 erscheinen werden. Dann erwartet euch das neue KEEP OF KALESSIN Album.
Die neue EP ist zugleich die Transformation in eine neue Band Ära mit den Langzeit Mainman Obsidian C an den Vocals, anstelle von Thebon, der im März ausgestiegen ist.

Frontmann Obsidian C. kommentiert alle drei Tracks:
"The new digital era opens some opportunities for bands and releasing digital EP's makes it possible for such a diverse band as Keep Of Kalessin to release some tracks and new versions of tracks that would not necessarily fit on an album.

"Introspection is a very personal song for me and deals with some issues I guess many can relate to when they start questioning themselves and what's really important in their lives. As a musician you're always sacrificing personal life for the band and lately I've been wondering if it's all worth it. Girlfriends, friends and family have always come second and I guess it's only natural that some priorities change as you grow older. So....basically I guess this is my midlife crisis caught on tape." the front man laughs.

"Flight of the hatchling is our first instrumental song and shows the band from a very different side. As the title suggests this is our own type of Flight of the bumblebee kind of song, even though it's not a cover version, but a song entirely written by me.

"We also added a version of The Dragontower, which I've wanted to release for some time now. The only change to this version is in fact how the drums are playing and shows that the song is very much Keep Of Kalessin and now sounding more like The Divine Land or Ascendant type of songs.

"On Reptilian we had mostly blastbeat songs and the reason why we chose the "slower" version of The Dragontower was simply to make it stand out and to give the album more diversity.

"The extreme version is the same tempo and same recordings as previously released except from the drum tracks which have been re-recorded with more of Vyl's furiosity."

2013 geht das WITH FULL FORCE Festival als europaweit fest etablierte Größe im Bereich METAL, HARDCORE und PUNK in die 20. Runde und feiert eine gigantische Geburtstagsparty. Zum Jubiläum wird das Festival um einen Tag verlängert und startet schon am Donnerstag mit geballter Power: Slayer, Hatebreed, Agnostic Front, Elsterglanz und und der ehemalige Metallica-Bassist Jason Newsted werden am Donnerstag, dem "20th Anniversary Extended Day", die spektakuläre Jubiläumsparty eröffnen. Und auch das darauf folgende Lineup mit Größen wie Motörhead, In Flames, Sick Of It All, Parkway Drive, Down, Terror und vielen weiteren erweist sich einem 20-jährigen Jubiläum mehr als würdig. Das WITH FULL FORCE Festival ist auch 2013 definitiv wieder eines der ganz großen Festivalhighlights. Natürlich wird es neben der Hauptbühne wieder das legendäre Hardbowl-Zelt und die traditionellen Specials "Knüppelnacht", "Saturday Night Fever" und "The Last Supper" geben!

Das WITH FULL FORCE Festival findet in diesem Jahr vom 27. bis 30. Juni auf dem Flugplatz Roitzschjora bei Löbnitz in der Nähe von Leipzig statt und auch 2013 verspricht dieser Event wieder alle bisherigen Rekorde zu brechen. ICED EARTH werden am 12. April ihre erste offizielle Blu-Ray/DVD „Live In Ancient Kourion“ auf den Markt bringen! Die Aufnahmen dazu stammen von der bombastischen, zweieinhalbstündigen Live Show aus einem 6.000 Jahre alten Amphitheater auf Zypern – Gänsehaut pur!
